...and I haven't updated my blog yet. Sorry, I tend to procrasinate. Though I have updated my vlog twice, so at least I've done something. But I know I need to updaye tjis because if I waited any longer any other posts I'd want to do, I'd feel like I'd have to wait until I did this first post with my first month here. (Warning: This is going to be a VERY long post).
First Week Here: I arrived Monday, September 5th, around 10am, and was exhausted. The day before I had the oppurtunity to sleep all day in Boston (which was good, since I have trouble sleeping on planes), but I couldn't sleep on the red-eye flight to Germany. I landed in Munich, where my host mom and her friend picked me up, and we made the 3 hour drive to the Esslingen area. The drive was nice, it gave me the oppurtunity to talk with them a bit and see some of Germany. The next day, my host mom, sister, and I went to go see a castle in Esslingen. But, we ended up getting lost, so really I just got to see the city from on top of a tall hill. Wednesday, I joined them to shop a bit in Esslingen (It's funny, at the time I felt so lost walking around the city, and now it seems so small and easy to get around). That Thursday, I was supposed to go shopping with my host sister, but I felt sick so ultimately I stayed home (the first 2 weeks, since I left Phoenix/Las Vegas, I felt nasuea often). Friday we went to another city (not sure of the name) because my host mom needed to go to the Optometrist, so my host sister and I went to a castle nearby, and hung out for a bit. I don't believe we did much that weekend. And then, it was time for school to start.
Second Week Here: My first week of school was a bit weird for me. The first 2 days I followed my host sister around since I had no schedule. It helped me learn my way around and how things go here, and what it's like to not understand what the teacher is saying at all (the exception to this would be math class, where I don't understand no matter what language it's in). Wednesday I got my schedule, which suprised me because it included a lot of free time (I'll talk more about that in a different post). After my first class by myself (where I was freaking out the whole time because I was alone, but someone came up at talked to me during the pause, which helped) I had (and still have) a 5 hour break, then I went to English class. English class excited me, since I'd actually understand what was being said. This is also where I got to meet the other exchange student, from Portugal. I was so happy to know there was another student who was in my situation, per say. Especially since her English is good.
Those were my first 2 weeks here, obviously that's not filling you in on my whole first month here, but the next events (Oktoberfest and making dinner), I'd like to post seperately. I think it'd make more sense that way.
And, now that I'm caught up, I no longer have to think "Oh, I'd like to post about that on my blog, but wait, I should update it first". Don't except posts to be weekly or consistent, since I'm not doing exciting things all the time (though, these next couple of days I'll probably post a lot, since I haven't been keeping up).

Almost Time To Go
Next Wednesday I'm actually leaving.
I can't believe it.
These past 2 weeks I've been traveling around (visiting family and what-not) and started realizing how it's gonna feel to be homesick. Now that I'm back home I obviously don't feel that way, but I think the flight there will be a really sad time for me.
Also, I've lost some of my German. Hopefully once I get there I'll pick up the language quickly. I'll just have to tell everyone I refuse to speak English for a few months.
Anyways, I mainly just wrote this so there's more than one post on the blog, and to let you know that this will actually be updated, especially now that I'm leaving soon.
Gah...the thought of packing...I hate packing.

Intro
Starting in September, I will be studying abroad in Germany for high school.
This blog is mainly to show what will be going on in my everyday life there.
Obviously I don't leave for another 3 months (well, 2 1/2 months), but until then every once in awhile I'll come on and write minor updates with everything going on :)
Tschues ;)
